And our heads are pounding.

To all the people that have planned camps I have attended in my life - thank you so much. I never fully realised just how much work goes into planning a camp and I'm utterly grateful for all the hands and brains that contributed to making every single camp what it was.

I've attended some amazing camps in my life so when the idea of planning one for the worship students at school came about, I jumped for joy. I just knew that this camp is going to be amazing and lives will change - and being an admin freak, I was stoked I finally got to use my gifts. The idea was all peachy in my mind and I constantly thought 'How hard could it be?' but friends, as the day draws near, the stress levels are rising and I'm starting to realise just how much effort and just how much of yourself you need to give to plan a camp.

We originally thought that all 46 kids were going to agree and be able to pay for the camp but turns out that we forgot that kids have other trips and things that they need to pay for. So when some of our most needed students said they couldn't come due to cost - we started to freak out. What if none of the other kids can come because of cost? What if we don't get enough kids to break even? What if only 3 kids hand in forms and we need to cancel the camp? What if no one pays on time? What were we thinking? Why did we think we were capable of this?

Doubt started filling our minds as we realised just how many forms the kids needed to fill out and just how much money/time we needed to spend to make this camp successful. As we started to list out all the things we needed to do, from the big things (like forms, transport etc) to the nitty gritty (cabin allocations, decor etc) I personally started to freak out because who on earth knew so much work needed to go into a 3 day camp?!

One thing I must say is that I am so grateful for the team we have for this camp. Despite our busy schedules, we always seem to make time to sit and think about how we can make this camp the best for the students. We're very big on the students focusing on their own personal relationships with God and we're praying that this camp will be a nudge in the right direction.

"I will lift up my eyes to the hills - from whence comes my help?
My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth.
He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber.
Behold, He who keeps Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.
The LORD is your keeper;
the LORD is your shade at your right hand.
The sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon by night.
The LORD shall preserve you from all evil;
He shall preserve your soul.
The LORD shall preserve your going out and your coming in from this time forth,
and even forevermore."

- Psalm 121

No doubt, I'm stressed. But I think that's completely normal and I don't think stressing about being stressed is going to help. I know for a fact that God wants us to succeed and I'm going to do all I can to make that a reality. If we put our hope and trust in Him, where can we go wrong? If our God is for us, then who can be against us?

Please pray for the team, the students, and the camp as we draw closer and closer to the first day. God's waiting for us, and we're ready to go meet Him there.

All is, and will be, well.

And our heads are pounding.

To all the people that have planned camps I have attended in my life - thank you so much. I never fully realised just how much work goes into planning a camp and I'm utterly grateful for all the hands and brains that contributed to making every single camp what it was.

The past month has been so wonderful. The senior worship band have set the bar high this year in terms of expectations of what we want to see happen within the school - and it's only been one month. I'm incredibly excited because I've definitely felt God move already and we can only go up from here!

I'm a person who loves music, and even though people say that worship isn't just singing/playing - it's a lifestyle, the music plays a huge part. Worship and praise songs are essentially thoughts and prayers put into words, sometimes words we can't even think of ourselves. I personally connect with God a lot more through the music, but it's not the only way!

I'm going to start doing these monthly playlists because maybe your worship playlists needs some new songs, or maybe you could even suggest some of these songs to your church! I hope this is helpful. With that being said, let's get into the playlist.

FREEDOM IS HERE/SHOUT UNTO GOD: HILLSONG UNITED

My band from last year played this song because we have this vision that the theme for this year is freedom and this song fitted perfectly.

HERE AS IN HEAVEN: ELEVATION WORSHIP

I may or may not have gotten chills while singing this song.

WHAT A BEAUTIFUL NAME: HILLSONG WORSHIP

The first time we played this song, there was just 3 of us (2 vocalists, 1 keyboard) and it was beautiful. Don't always feel the need to have a full band! Sometimes you need the acoustic sets to remind yourself why you're doing this.

ALIVE: HILLSONG YOUNG & FREE

This song was a party.

GOOD GOOD FATHER: CHRIS TOMLIN

A classic, simple song that holds such a powerful meaning.

HERE I AM TO WORSHIP: HILLSONG WORSHIP

Imagine hundreds of little kids shouting these lyrics back to you - adorable & unreal.

ONLY WANNA SING: HILLSONG YOUNG & FREE

First time ever singing this song at school! The band killed it.

SINKING DEEP: HILLSONG YOUNG & FREE

This song was one of my bands favourite songs to play last year and I'm so happy we're bringing it through to this year. Props to whoever wrote this song - it's absolutely beautiful.

What songs are on your worship playlist right now? Got any recommendations?  Let me know in the comments!
